Versall is a modern take on a chandelier – Feel, Dream
Versall takes its name from the magnificent Palace of Versailles built under King Louis XIV (the sun king). The Palace was built as a symbol of wealth and power and the Hall of Mirrors became its most opulent room. The room contains 357 mirrors and 43 chandeliers which held as many as 1,000 candles.
King Louis XIV enticed Venetian glass makers to relocate to France and manufacture glass for the Hall of Mirrors. According to legend, in order to keep its monopoly, the government of the Venetian Republic sent agents to France to poison the workers.
